The federal government has set a target of boosting the value of government work offered to small and medium technology businesses by $650 million each year, as part of the biggest technology purchasing overhaul in a decade.
To be revealed today by Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation Angus Taylor, the overhaul includes strict new measures that will hit federal agencies with a $100 million cap on the size of the IT contracts they award to suppliers.
The contract price limit reforms will be backed by the target of an increase of $650 million, or 10%, in the value of work awarded to SMEs under the government’s $6.5
